Holistic Therapies
The Usui System of Reiki
Experience a real sense of calm and well-being via this ancient therapeutic practice.
Reiki is a form of alternative medicine developed in 1922 by Japanese Buddhist Mikao Usui (1865-1926).
Reiki (which loosely translates as "Universal Life Force Energy") is a complementary healing system based around ancient Buddhist teachings which were formalized by Mikao Isui in 1922.
An experienced Reiki Practitioner can stimulate and encourage the flow of a patient's Ki or Chi, promoting balance and well-being on three levels - physical, spiritual and emotional.
Today, Usui Reiki remains one the most highly-regarded systems of Buddhist healing.
Dee is a certified Master Teacher and Master Healer in the Usui System of Reiki and has almost 20 years experience as a Reiki Practitioner and Teacher.
During a Reiki treatment, the client either sits or lies on a couch, fully-clothed.
The practitioner then gently places their hands on the head, body and limbs of the client in a particular order. It is by this means that the practitioner channels Chi energy into the patient by means of touch, to activate the natural healing processes of the patient's body and restore physical and emotional well-being.
Reiki is not faith healing and does not rely on belief or the Placebo Effect. Instead, it can be thought of as a system of bio-energetics similar to acupuncture or acupressure.

Indian head Massage
Having a sore, stiff neck, headaches and numbness in your fingers is not normal. Humans are not designed to sit still all day, staring at a screen, pad or phone.
Why suffer when almost instant relief is at hand?
Indian Head Massage is based on the Ayuvedic system of healing which has been practiced in India for over a thousand years. It provides Indian families with relaxation and healing on a daily basis, as well as playing a part in rituals such as weddings and births, not to mention everyday events like a trip to the barber.
How does it work?
The aim of Indian head massage is to release the #stress that has accumulated in the tissues, muscles and joints of the head, face, neck and shoulders.
What does it involve?
The client, fully clothed, sits in a massage chair for the treatment. The therapist uses a range of different movements including application of deep kneading and compression movements over the neck, shoulder and scalp areas. In addition, the therapist will also gently stimulate and stroke pressure points on the face. The session will usually last from twenty to forty-five minutes, and most therapists like their clients to sit quietly for ten or twenty minutes once the massage has been completed.
What is it good for?
Indian head massage is especially good for relieving stress, tension, fatigue, insomnia, headaches, migraine and sinusitis. Clients report that the experience is deeply calming and relaxing, leaving them feeling energised and revitalised and better able to concentrate.
What are the benefits?
Indian head massage helps increase joint mobility and flexibility in the neck and shoulders, improves blood circulation and lymphatic flow, frees knots of muscular tension, relaxes connective tissue, and aids in the elimination of accumulated toxins and waste products. It is particularly good for reducing the effects of stress and tension.
